Rural EMS Volunteer Insurance

The State Legislature passed a bill during the 2022 general session to create a new Volunteer EMS Personnel Insurance Program.  The Program will be available to non-benefited EMS personnel who serve in Class III or smaller counties, and meet certain criteria.  Criteria include not being eligible for insurance from employers, spouses, or parents; responding on 20% or more of calls available, serving as a staff member for a licensed or designated EMS provider, and being a resident of Utah.  See Utah Code Section 26-8a-603 for legal requirements.
